At Cypress Lawn, our caring staff members help families throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area create memorable final tributes for their loved ones. Over the years, many families have come to us trying to locate the grave of a loved one or ancestor at our cemetery. We recently developed a digital tool to streamline this process and let families locate their loved ones from the comfort of home. This search tool is called Locate a Gravesite and provides helpful features and information to users. Paying tribute to a loved one who has died is an important part of remembrance, and we hope this tool helps you commemorate a loved one with a special visit to our cemetery.

How does the Locate a Gravesite feature work? 

Simply enter an individual’s first and last name to search for their burial site at Cypress Lawn. An advanced search option lets you add a birthdate and date of death to your search. Once you click “Search,” you’ll see a corresponding list of names, and after clicking on one, you can view the exact grave location. A 360-degree ground view lets you see the burial site and its surrounding area exactly as it appears. Here you can view and submit memories of your loved one to share with other visitors to the site. You can also get step-by-step directions to the cemetery and your loved one’s grave so that you can arrange an in-person visit with ease.

How does Locate a Gravesite help me prepare for a tour of the cemetery? 

A unique feature of this online tool is the Tour Information tab that you’ll see when you visit the Locate a Gravesite page on our website. This tab lets you view pins on a map delineating the location of various points of interest for cemetery tour participants. These points include our Main Entrance, the Flower Shop, and the historic Noble Chapel. If you plan to join a historical cemetery tour, you can view the location of the graves of the notable individuals included on this type of tour.

What are the burial options available at Cypress Lawn?  

We are proud to offer various burial options to the families we serve. Those who choose traditional in-ground burial can select from single grave spaces, double-depth lawn crypt spaces, multiple space lots, large family garden and hedge estates, and private family plots. Our experienced team can help you design a personalized monument for your loved one, whether you select a memorialization plaque or memorial bench to hold multiple cremation urns. The memorialization options are virtually limitless, and we invite families to explore them with the help of our staff.
