Cypress Lawn Funeral Home

Angelina Espino Chico, age 76, passed away suddenly on January 4, 2026, in the Philippines. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Angelina was born in Mindoro, Philippines to Composo Espino and Rosia Villas. In 1972, she immigrated to San Francisco, beginning a new chapter filled with opportunity, determination, and connection. She earned her Bachelor’s degree as a dietician in 1969, a reflection of her discipline and commitment to caring for others.

In 1973, Angelina began a distinguished career with Bank of America, where she served as Director of International Money Transfer for over 30 years and then retired. Her work ethic, intelligence, and professionalism earned her respect throughout her career.

In 1983, Angelina met the love of her life, Larry Chico, at St. Patrick’s Church. The two were married on July 26, 1985, beginning a devoted partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless walks taken side by side.

Angelina was preceded in death by her parents, Composo Espino and Rosia Villas and her sister, Beberlita Espino Villa Flores.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Chico; her sons Jose Chico (wife Silvy Stevens), James Chico (fiancé Jeff Campanero), and Jeremy Chico (wife Erica Chico); and her cherished grandchildren Jerica Chico, Justin Chico, Silse Chico , and Chris Chico, whom she adored and happily spoiled at every opportunity.

Angelina found joy in life’s simple pleasures—drinking screwdrivers, eating chicken (any kind, always), cooking for those she loved, and taking long walks with Larry. Above all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. Her home and her heart were always open, and she welcomed everyone with warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness.

Her sudden loss has left a deep void in the lives of her family and friends. Though our hearts are heavy, we remain grateful for the love she gave so freely and the memories that will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
