Aurea Laxamana Guevara

Aurea’s life was defined by her unwavering support and love for her family. She was a source of strength, wisdom, and comfort, always putting her children’s needs before her own. She instilled in her children the values of courage, compassion, and perseverance, leaving a legacy of a life well-lived and deeply loved. We will forever cherish the memories of her stories growing up, her warm hugs, her fashionista persona, and especially her delicious cooking.

Aurea was the beloved wife of Wilfrido L. Guevara Sr.,  who preceded her in death in 2005. Aurea is survived by her daughter, Louie Abad, and three sons, Greg, Jeff, Bobby and their partners Gerry Abad, Vicky Guevara, Zeny Guevara, and Terri Samonte. Aurea’s love runs through her 11 grandchildren: Meridee, Greg Jr, Jennileen, Alyssa, Rachel, Ricky, Elouise, Laurence, Victoria, Analise, and William; and her legacy continues through her 11 great-grandchildren: Kristen, Kiely, Kiera, Jacob, Kaden, Gavin, Ethan, Rylan, Theo, Benji, and Quinn.

Aurea is the eldest and leaves behind seven siblings: Marcial Laxamana, Ricardo Laxamana, Milagros Enriquez and Romeo Laxamana who reside in the US, and Rosita Santos, Arsenia Manahan, and Abner Laxamana who reside in the Philippines.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and thank you for being present in commemorating our loving mother..

Aurea’s visitation services will be held on December 16th & 17th from 5-8:30pm at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home, with Mass at St. Augustine’s Church on December 18th at 10:30 am, followed by her interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  More details regarding services are listed under the “Events” tab.
