Bernardino “Bernie” Gabriel, 84 flew into heaven October 8, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1940 in San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines. Bernie was the eldest of seven to Valentin and Leocadia Gabriel. In 1963 Bernie graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and in 1965 became a registered architect which was a proud moment for his family showcasing his dedication to education and commitment to personal growth. In 1968, Bernie married the love of his life Honoria, (Norie) Tuvera which lasted 56 loving years. In October 24, 1970 while being employed by Roger’s Engineering, Bernie and Norie migrated to the United States of America on a professional work visa. Six years later in 1974, they were blessed with their first child Gaylord, and in 1980 their youngest, Noralee was born.
 
Bernie was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma in 2017, and after four rounds of chemotherapy he was able to beat cancer which blessed all of us with seven more wonderful years. Ultimately, on October 8, 2024 Bernie succumbed to pneumonia, and his love and devotion to his loving family, friends, and God made him a very compassionate person for life.
 
Bernie over years had many hobbies. He enjoyed bowling, tennis, golfing, dancing, and his most recent bird watching. He was very passionate with his skills on building and creating masterpieces for many UPA events.
 
Bernie was a man of many admirable qualities. He was honest, very generous, loyal, reliable, and had a great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. He touched the hearts of many with his kindness and compassion.
 
Bernie is survived by his siblings, Ernesto, Angelita, Martina, Thelma, Teodora, and Alfonso. Also by his wife Norie, and his children, Gaylord (& Elaine), Noralee (& BJ). He will be remembered by his four grandchildren Kaleia, Sophia, Samantha, & Romy 🐾
