Bertha Lilia Poblacion, lovingly known as “Mom”, “Nana”, “Grandma”, and “Great Grandma” passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024. She was born on November 15, 1947, in Chihuahua, Mexico as daughter to Matilde and Rafael Enriquez. Bertha spent time living in the Philippines and Singapore before settling down in the US with her then husband Ernesto Y Poblacion. Bertha was a devoted mother to five children, Maria, Matilde, Anthony, Ernest, and Cristina. She was also a grandmother and great-grand mother. She was loved by many family members including many in the Philippines. Also including her sister-in-law who was a close friend, Violeta Pineda, her husband Teotimo Pineda and their daughter Maria Elena Pineda who spent a lot of time with Bertha through the years.

Bertha was a compassionate and generous soul, always helping others. She had a natural empathy for others and was known for her loving personality and creativity. Bertha had a passion for baking and cooking. She was also an amazing hostess always opening her home to friends and family and cooking delicious meals from Mexican to Filipino food and everything in-between. Her talent in the kitchen was unmatched, and she delighted in decorating the most beautiful cookies and cakes for her loved ones.

In addition to her culinary skills, Bertha was an artist at heart. She enjoyed crafts and home projects, always adding her own creative touch to everything she did. She always created her own beautiful white Christmas tree made from branches that she picked out and decorated. People would stop their cars and admire the tree during holidays. Bertha also had a love for animals and spent many happy years raising birds, chickens, ducks, goats and dogs earlier in life.

Bertha will be deeply missed by all who knew her and especially her family and close friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. In loving memory of Bertha Lilia Poblacion, may she rest in peace.
