Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's

Beverly “Bev” Franzella, age 92, of San Mateo, CA, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023. Bev was born on December 13, 1930, in San Francisco, CA, to James and Theresa Basso. Beverly attended Mission High School; it was during this time that she met the love of her life, Gus Franzella. Bev and Gus married and began building their beautiful life together in San Francisco. As their family began to grow, they moved to San Bruno where they raised their five children. In later years, Beverly and Gus settled in San Mateo, where they spent the rest of their lives together.

Beverly’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she considered herself truly blessed to witness the birth of her grandchildren, their marriages and to be a part of her great-grandchildren’s lives. Bev will always be remembered for her kindness, honesty, and unconditional love. We will also miss her sense of humor, perspective, and incredible cooking. While her absence leaves a massive hole in all our lives, her memory will live forever through her family, friends, and the countless people who loved her.

Beverly is survived by her sons John (Deborah), Larry (Michael), Gary (Susan), and twin daughters Sharon (Peter) Keelen and Karon Knox Franzella. She was the cherished grandmother of Michael (Lauren) Franzella, Jason (Amber) Franzella, Katelin Knox, Matthew (Danielle) Franzella, Gina (Alex) Sodini, Joseph (Joanna) Knox, Daniel (Ivy) Keelen, Timothy (Kaylee) Knox, and step-grandmother to Jeffrey (Kasey) DeFranco and Ross DeFranco. Beverly was also the proud great-grandmother of Nolan, Jase, John, Ava, Lucca, Violet, Adriana, Everly, Justice, Emilia, Sienna, Gianna, and step great-grandmother to Brody and Rocco. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Sam Franzella (Paul), her niece Veronica Sheridan, great-niece Natalie (Van) Beane, and great-great-nephew Van VI.

Beverly was predeceased by her loving husband, Gus, of 61 years, as well as her sister-in-law’s Mary (George) Brocato and Gloria Franzella.
