Blanca Leonor Corrales

16.12.1928 – 22.02.2026

Blanca Leonor Corrales, a quien siempre recordaremos como nuestra matriarca y adorada “mamita”, nació en Managua, Nicaragua el 16 de diciembre de 1928. Hija de Francisco Castillo Zepeda “papa abuelo” y Rosa Julia Castro. Fue una niña curiosa, amorosa y juguetona.

Subió al altar el 27/03/1953 de la mano del amor de su vida, Raúl Ernesto Corrales Flores (papito). Juntos formaron una familia muy unida compuesta por Isaac Silvio, Franklin Raúl, Norberto Bismarck (q.e.p.d), Ligia María, Douglas Ernesto, Fátima del Socorro, y Blanca Patricia. Como madre de familia, fue muy amorosa, estricta y protectora, en un hogar donde nunca faltó el atolillo, pinolillo, almíbar y baho, pero tampoco la música de Rocío Durcal y Los Panchos. 

El 14 de febrero de 1994, decide junto a papito, reunirse con varios de sus hijos, estableciendo residencia en Estados Unidos. Durante toda su vida, se le conoció por su famosa carcajada, los abrazos maternales que eran como un cariñoso refugio al que siempre acudimos. Damos gracias a Dios por haberla tenido con nosotros todos estos años, dejando con ella un legado de firmeza, amor, disciplina y resiliencia. Dio su último respiro el 22/02/2026.

A pesar de que hoy la recordamos con nostalgia y dolor, nos alivia pensar que ya está reunida con el amor de su vida Raúl y su hijo Bismarck.

Blanca Leonor Corrales, whom we will always remember as our matriarch and beloved “Mamita,” was born in Managua, Nicaragua on December 16th, 1928. Daughter of Francisco Castillo Zepeda (“Papa Abuelo”) and Rosa Julia Castro. She was a curious, loving, and playful child.

On March 27th, 1953, she walked to the altar hand in hand with the love of her life, Raúl Ernesto Corrales Flores (“Papito”). Together they built a close-knit family made up of Isaac Silvio, Franklin Raúl, Norberto Bismarck (rest in peace), Ligia María, Douglas Ernesto, Fátima del Socorro, and Blanca Patricia. As a mother, she was loving, strict, and protective, in a home where there was never a shortage of atolillo, pinolillo, almíbar, and baho, nor the music of Rocío Dúrcal and Los Panchos.

On February 14th, 1994, she and Papito decided to join several of their children and establish residence in the United States. Throughout her life, she was known for her contagious and boisterous laughter and maternal hugs that felt like a loving refuge we always turned to. We thank God for having her with us all these years, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, discipline, and resilience. She took her last breath on February 22nd, 2026.

Although today we remember her with nostalgia and sorrow, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, Raúl, and her son Bismarck.
