Christine Nelson
Apr 12, 1925 – Jan 11, 2024

Christine Nelson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 11, 2024. She was 98 years old, on her way to 99 this coming April 12. Christine was preceded by her husband Clarence J. Nelson [Joe], who died on June 13, 1987.
Christine was the proud mother of five children, John Nelson [Linda], Patty Vorpahl [George], Dani Rutledge [Bill], Mary De Rosa [Phillip] and Clarence J. Nelson, Jr. [Kate]. In addition, there are 12 beautiful grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren that Christine shared her life with. A Beloved sister to nine siblings.
Christine was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on a farm where she milked cows and worked in the fields. She left that life behind at the age of 16 and started her family. In her early twenties she moved to California and started a new life, never to return to Colorado. Christine had a full life with many blessings. She and Joe made many sacrifices raising their family and the outcome of that is evident in what they have all achieved.
Christine took great pleasure in spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow-up. She could often be found on the stands at a basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball or soccer field cheering one of them on. Christine loved to dance and we believe she’s dancing with the angels now! She was the matriarch of the Nelson family and reluctant to relinquish that title, to the very end. We are all very proud of her. Love from all of us!
