Daniel Frederick Hall
Apr 7, 1938 – May 9, 2024

Daniel Hall, born April 7, 1938, peacefully departed this world on May 9, 2024. A true son of San Francisco, he was raised in its vibrant heart, attending Balboa High School where destiny intertwined his path with Adele, the love of his life. For nearly 66 years, they journeyed together, raising 3 daughters, who he fondly called “Hallettes”: Roberta (Bob), Kim (Walter), and Michelle (Bruno). Their union bloomed into a legacy of love, as they were blessed with 10 extraordinary grandchildren: Danny, Jenny, Matthew, Gianna, Steven, Tara, Mia, Joey, Bianca, and Daniella. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Grumpy,” a moniker that warmed his heart and brought a smile to his face. He is also survived by his adored great-grandchildren: Ayla, Alina, Jack, Giovanna, and Cal, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Dan was a man of many talents and passions, affectionately dubbing himself a “Copenter” for his dual roles as both policeman and carpenter. His zest for life knew no bounds, finding joy in pursuits ranging from biking, hunting, and fishing to the precision of skeet shooting. Yet, it was his affinity for collecting designer watches, knives, and guns that showcased his discerning taste. A connoisseur of media equipment, he delighted in the rich melodies of his music, only settling for the finest sound quality from reel-to-reel to streaming platforms.
In his later years, Dan discovered solace in the simplicity of crossword puzzles and the artistry of crafting quips, a pastime that endeared him to friends, family, and even his caregivers. His wit and wisdom now immortalized within the pages of a cherished book.
Dan’s departure leaves a void in the lives of many, but his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Day 1
On my first day as a police officer out of the academy, I was fortunate to be put in a Dodge Diplomat radio car with 28L1. Im pretty sure Dan was not too happy about having a brand new wet behind the ears rookie with him, but he treated me well and I learned a lot about how to be a keeper of the peace and how to treat people with respect. When a crowd of schoolchildren crossed the street in front of our radio car, Dan made sure to run the lights and siren which the kids loved. I took that with me through 30 years of a career and did the exact same thing every chance I got. Rest In Peace, Dan, and thank you for your service. Murph 28L10/T10 -
Man of many talents
I had the pleasure of working with Dan for many years at the Burlingame Police Dept. Dan had an infectious smile. He was kind and generous to many. A fitness Guru who rode his bicycle everywhere. A true family man. He loved his wife and daughters more than anything. An exert craftsman who made many beautiful improvements to his home which he called The Manor. To Dell the girls and all his family my wife and I extend our deepest sympathy. Im sorry we will be away at the time of Dans services. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace 28 Lincoln 1. Tom Marriscolo
