DIANA ISABEL COLVIN

Diana Isabel Colvin, born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 15, 1951 to Lope and Irene Abadilla, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by those who loved her.

Diana was a proud and lifelong resident of Colma, where she lived for more than sixty years. She attended Colma Elementary School, Colma Intermediate School, and graduated from Jefferson High School. Her roots in Colma ran deep, and her love for the community shaped most of her life’s work.

At just nineteen years old, Diana became a branch manager for Bank of America, an impressive achievement that reflected her drive and leadership. Years later, she became the proprietor of a floral business in San Francisco where her creativity and eye for beauty flourished. She also worked for several years at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds.

Diana dedicated more than a decade of service as a state employee at the Cow Palace where she served  as Rental and Operations Manager. Every year she would coordinate and organize the Grand National Rodeo and Livestock show and the Great Dickens Christmas Fair, bringing energy and excellence to each occasion.

Her greatest passion, however, was serving the Town of Colma. Diana devoted more than fourteen years to public service as a councilmember and later as Mayor. She was a dedicated and tireless advocate for her community, always working to make Colma a better place for its residents.

Diana was known for her love of fashion and impeccable style. She was always dressed for the occasion, polished from head to toe, with a wardrobe that reflected her vibrant personality. She had tremendous love for animals and poured her heart into her beloved Chihuahua Chloe.

In her free time Diana enjoyed cooking, entertaining guests, gardening, and taking long walks with Victor and Chloe. She especially loved spending summer days in Lake Tahoe embracing the beauty of the outdoors.

Diana will be remembered for her strength, elegance, dedication to public service, and deep love she shared with family, friends, and her community. Her legacy will live on in the Town of Colma she so faithfully served and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Diana is survived by Victor, her beloved husband and her cherished Chihuahua, Chloe.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Diana’s compassionate heart by making donations to the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA, helping protect animals from suffering and giving them the love and care she believes every animal deserves.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY, 827 Vienna St., San Francisco, and a reception immediately following (5:00 p.m.) at the South San Francisco Elks Lodge, 920 Stonegate Dr., South San Francisco.

Memories

  • To my “sister” Diana

I am surely going to miss my beautiful, loving sister. She was truly an amazing person. Always concerned about the underdog. Diana was always willing to give someone the shirt off her back. She tirelessly worked for the people of Colma, always giving of herself to others. I will miss the long talks that we used to have over the many years I knew her. Diana, I love you Aurora Cuesta
