
Dung T. Tran, our beloved mother, was born on November 4, 1930, in Saigon, Vietnam. She passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 94 at Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in San Francisco, California.
Our mother is the youngest of the 10 siblings. She is a very strong, kindhearted and resilient lady. Throughout her life, our mom found joy in simple pleasures like reading, gardening, sewing, cooking/baking, and knitting. Her love for these hobbies was a reflection of her nurturing personality and her desire to create beautiful clothes for us growing up.
As we say goodbye to our beloved mom, let us remember her with these words from Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Our mom’s legacy of generosity, her cooking (braised pork “Thịt Kho”, egg rolls “Chả Giò”, ground pork stuffed tomatoes, and chicken curry) and creativity of making beautiful clothes will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she touched the lives of so many with her love and compassion.
