Edna Nuque Garrovillas, a hospital steward at UCSF and resident of Daly City, CA, passed away on November 11, 2024 at the age of 89 at her home while surrounded by her loved ones.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Filomena Deseo, and granddaughter, Michelle Deseo. She is predeceased by her brothers, Tomas Garrovillas, Ever Garrovillas, Nicasio Garrovillas Jr., Recto Gonzales, and her sisters Luningning Garrovillas, and Nora G. Matawaran. Edna was born in Morong Rizal, Philippines, on May 23, 1935 to Elena Nuque and Nicasio Garrovillas Sr. She graduated from Manila Central University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Edna loved to crochet and knit scarves for her family. She played volleyball and basketball for the Philippines’s National Team. She enjoyed watching any and all sports and going to the casino with her friends. Edna will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
