James M. Fatooh passed peacefully on May 30, 2024 with his son, Sean, and his wife of 54 years, Anne, at his side after several years of challenging health issues.

In addition to his wife, Anne Kelly Fatooh, Jim is survived by his adored son, Sean and daughter-in-law, Robyn, and granddaughters, Lilyan and Alexandra.  Jim is lovingly reunited with his youngest son, Kevin, who preceded him in death in 2004, as well as Jim’s loving parents, Wilfred and Helen.  Jim is also survived by his sister, Winnie Kingsbury (Richard), his two brothers, Paul and Peter (Colleen) together with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim was larger than life.  From his humble upbringing in San Francisco’s Eureka Valley, he attended Most Holy Redeemer grade school (1960) and a proud graduate of San Francisco’s Sacred Heart High School (1964). He achieved a degree from City College of San Francisco in 1966.

Jim went on to have a career as a Teamster as a member of Local 921.  Jim was also employed by the San Francisco Sheriff’s civil division.  Along with his beloved wife, Anne, he was a resident of San Mateo for 54 years where they raised their family.

Jim’s friends never left his side. They were lifelong. He was devoted to friendship and generosity.   He was a proud member of Twin Peaks Parlor #214, Native Sons of the Golden West.  Jim loved his hometown teams, but nothing was ever more important to him than his wife and family.

The family would especially like to thank Jim’s caregivers for their compassionate and dedicated assistance these past couple of months.

A Vigil and Rosary will be held on June 10, 2024 commencing at 7pm at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s in San Mateo and a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim’s life will be at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 300 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, CA on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11AM.
