Jocelyn Marie Rollins
May 15, 1969 – Nov 28, 2024

Jocelyn Marie Rollins was born on May 15th, 1969, in San Francisco, CA, to the parents Brenda Jackson and David Rollins Jr. Jocelyn is a product of the San Francisco Unified School District attending Edison Elementary School, James Lick and Denman Middle schools. Abraham Lincoln High School and graduated from Downtown High School Class of 1988. Monisha Harge was born March 7th, 1989. She met Gregory Lawrence Sr. in 1991, and they married on September 25th, 1993, in Reno, Nevada. Two children were born from their marriage: Gregory DeMarcus Lawrence II, born February 17th, 1995, and Nyriana Annelle Lawrence, born October 7th, 1997. She was baptized in 2007 at Evergreen Baptist Church of San Francisco, CA under the leadership of Pastor, Reverend Damian M. Epps. She was a very active and present mother attending and contributing to all her children’s school activities and events.
Jocelyn worked as a records clerk for California Pacific Medical Center and catering food for family and friends. Although she pursued a career as a desk clerk, she often found herself cooking and baking. This was a talent picked up through the inspiration of her grandmother Cle Esther “MeMa” Jackson. Jocelyn eventually gained the courage to pursue her “Jocie’s Tasty Treats” business full-time. Jocelyn loved cooking and never said no when asked to cook or bake for any occasion which made her business a success. She went on to cater for family, friends, and various events before her health took a significant toll on her. And even after her health started to decline, she still tried to cook and bake to show her love to others. Jocelyn was quiet and soft-spoken, but she wasn’t a pushover. If she didn’t agree with something you did or said to her or one of her family/friends, she was not slow to tell you how she felt about it. Jocelyn is loved by everyone she knew, and harsh words could never be said about her. Even though it was very early and unexpected, God called home another one of his beautiful angels. So today we are here to celebrate the homegoing of Jocelyn Marie Rollins.
Don’t cry for me now I have died, for I’m still here I’m by your side, My body’s gone but my soul is here, please don’t shed another tear, I am still here I’m all around, only my body lies in the ground.
