Lin Fai Leung
A life devoted to love, family, and resilience
September 9, 1937 – September 24, 2025
Lin Fai Leung, 88, of San Francisco, California, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 24, 2025, from congestive heart failure.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Lin Fai lived a remarkable life shaped by perseverance, love, and sacrifice. His life was defined by strength, commitment, and an unwavering devotion to family.
From humble beginnings, Lin Fai won the heart of his beloved wife, Bo Chun Chow, promising her a life of love and stability. He kept that promise every day of their 67 years together. To provide for his family, he worked tirelessly—often at two jobs—yet always came home to help bathe his children and prepare them for school the next morning. When Bo Chun returned to work, he faithfully packed her lunch each day, a simple act of devotion that spoke volumes.
He instilled in his children the values of hard work, responsibility, and dedication—principles that remain his greatest legacy. Though his heart was broken by the loss of his daughter, Sandy, and more recently by the passing of his beloved wife and life partner, he carried that grief with quiet strength. His life was a testament to resilience, generosity, forgiveness, and above all, love for his family.
Lin Fai is survived by his children Debbie Tang-Quan (Kenneth), Dennis Hanley (né Leung), Dan Leung (Li “Ko” Kong), and son-in-law Tony Chow; grandchildren Sharon Su (Tim), Justin Chow, Karis Ong (Nik), Samantha Chow, David Tang-Quan, Jonathan Chow, Isaac Hanley (Brittany Cheung), Brian Hanley, and Christian Hanley; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Zoe Su, and Dominik, Karson, and Natalyn Ong. Lin Fai is also survived by his sister, Cheung Lan So, her children Yuk Yin, Joe, Edward, and Tom Chow, and their families. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Betty Liang (Jason), and a steady presence in the lives of his grandnieces, Stephanie and Sabrina.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Bo Chun Chow, who passed away just 82 days before him; their daughter Sandy Chow; and his parents, Hing Dee and Toy Chong.
A respected chef and restaurant owner, Lin Fai devoted his life to his family. His love, values, and sacrifices will live on in the generations he worked so hard to nurture and support.
