Marian Lie-Kiauw Wong

Nov 25, 1951 – Feb 26, 2025

Cypress Lawn Funeral Home

Born on November 25, 1951, in Palembang, Indonesia, Marian was the second of six children to Hiap Kong Tjhong and San Hwa Chen. From a young age, she embraced hard work, assisting in her parents’ hair salon while caring for her younger siblings.

In 1975, she married Raymond Wong, who traveled from San Francisco to Indonesia. Later that year, they began their new life, building a home filled with love and resilience. Together, they raised two daughters, Cynthia and Elaine, and worked tirelessly to provide them with a bright future. Marian’s greatest joy was successfully petitioning her parents and siblings to join her in the U.S.  She also found joy in cooking, sewing and traveling.

Marian was a devoted and loving grandmother to her four granddaughters—Adeline, Audrey, Amelia, and Everly. She was there for every milestone, from their first steps to their birthdays, always showering them with love, wisdom, and warmth.

In 2016, Marian was diagnosed with cancer, a battle she fought courageously. Though she overcame it once, it returned in 2021. Despite her struggles, she remained strong and devoted to her family until her final moments.

Marian’s legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and kindness. She will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her children, Cynthia (and husband Jon); Elaine (and husband James); and her four beloved granddaughters: Adeline, Audrey, Amelia and Everly. She is also survived by her siblings: Melissa, Michelle, Kenneth and Steven and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family takes comfort in knowing her love will live on in the memories she left behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
