Mario Rodrigo Archila, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on March 13, 1940, in El Salvador and later moved to Daly City, California, where he lived a fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones.
Mario was known for his generous spirit, caring nature, and optimistic outlook on life. He was always thinking of others and went out of his way to help those in need. Mario found joy in simple pleasures like solving crossword puzzles and reading, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
One of Mario’s significant life moments was marrying his wife, Ana Maria, with whom he shared 64 years of love and companionship. Together, they raised three children and created a loving and supportive home for their family. Mario was a devoted father who instilled values of hard work, kindness, and compassion in his children.
Mario’s family was his greatest source of happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and unwavering love for his family.
Mario was proceeded in death by his father Mario Archila, mother Teresa Martinez de Archila, brother Cesar Archila, and sister Julia Merritt, and survived by his wife, Ana Maria, his children Norma (Carlos), Mario Rene (Mary), and Anna Carolina (Sergio), his grandchildren Raquel, Carlos (Rachel), Mario Antonio, Arianna, Serena, and Gabriella, and his great-grandchildren Joseph, Jonathan, Alexia, Anabella, Amaya, Gino, and Roman. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mario’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished and loved by many.
A memorial mass will be held honoring Mario Archila on 12/20/2024, at 3:00 pm. Church of the Good Shepherd 901 Oceana Blvd. Pacifica, CA 94044. In honor of Mario’s sweet tooth, desserts and refreshments to follow.
