Mele Tu’ifua Kavakiholeva

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mele Tui’fua Afu Kavakiholeva on October 21, 2025 at the age of 94. She was known to most as Tui’fua Lahi. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She lived a long and beautiful life and was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully. 

Tui’fua was born on September 13, 1931 in Fotua, Ha’apai, Tonga. She is 1 of 8 siblings: Lesieli Afu Situ’a, Siaosi Afu, Melenaite Afu Vakalahi, Sami Afu, Siupeli Afu Mohetau, Siale Afu, Halalilifa Afu Sr. Tu’ifua dedicated her life to her husband and raising their children. She was well known in her village as being beautiful and she loved to make Tongan crafts. She loved to sing, especially Tongan hymns. She had a great sense of humor and loved a great laugh. She was a woman of strong faith and was a dedicated servant of God.

Although Tui’fua is gone, she lives in our hearts forever.
