Patrick Ket-Kiang Leong
Apr 26, 1958 – Sep 14, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Leong, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. Patrick passed away peacefully on the warm and sunny morning of September 14, 2024, after a courageous battle with stage IV lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Daly City, California.
Patrick was a kind and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His trustworthy nature and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. He was a caring and supportive husband to his wife, Mia, and a loving father to his daughter, Kat. He was also a wonderful brother and uncle.
In addition to his roles as a husband and father, he was a compassionate, dedicated, and hard-working nurse in the San Francisco County Jail for 28 years before retiring. He kept the mood light with his corny jokes and positive attitude.
Patrick had a passion for traveling and loved exploring new countries to experience different cultures with his family. They’ve traveled to Japan, Ireland, England, Thailand, Portugal, France, Spain, Italy, and more. He sought out new adventures wherever he went, from ATV riding to zip lining.
One of Patrick’s greatest obsessions was airplanes, from watching them take off and land at SFO to flying a Cessna. He got excited whenever he heard the Blue Angels fly around the city in early October.
His favorite color was yellow, a color that matched his warm demeanor and joyful nature. He was an avid collector of caps and shoes such as Onitsuka Tiger and Patrick (yes, a shoe brand that shares his name). He also enjoyed collecting and wearing his mechanical watches.
Patrick will be missed tremendously. He would want all of us to remember the fond memories we’ve shared with him – tell a corny joke or two and continue to be kind, good people. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved and cherished by so many. Soar high in the skies!

Holiday Memories
Patrick QQ was always a very fun and caring uncle. Every Christmas, major holiday, or birthday, we celebrate at his house and always share lots of laughs. Sometimes we take pictures with him when he is sleeping while making fun poses. He always has a comforting presence that makes everyone feel comfortable. I will really miss him and am grateful for him always. -
All in a days work
Patrick has a sense of humor that lightens up our day in our work in the jail. One of his funny moments was when he inverted the collar of his white uniform, placed a white paper strip across making him look like a Catholic priest and during pill call, handed medications to the inmates who are in line as if they are receiving holy communion !!😂😂😂 -
