Always In Our Hearts

Ramiel L. Gutierrez, 84, of Daly City, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 23, 1940, in the Philippines, the beloved son of Pablo V. Gutierrez and Aurelia E. (Lucido) Gutierrez.

Ramiel married the love of his life, Elsie Antonio, and together they shared a wonderful life, raising two beautiful children, Ramiel Gutierrez, Jr. and Sharon Gutierrez Grgich, who, along with Elsie, survive him.

A man of great intellect and dedication, Ramiel was a professional chemical   engineer, having graduated from De La Salle College in Manila, Philippines. His  career path was diverse and impactful. He served as an engineer at Bechtel   Corporation, Director of Velur Land Investment Co., and a commercial analyst at the Philippine Consulate in both San Francisco and New York.

After an accomplished career, Ramiel transitioned into the real estate industry, where he became a successful real estate broker and the proud owner of Golden Castle Real Estate. His leadership extended beyond his career, as he was the past president of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of San Mateo County.

Ramiel was deeply involved in his faith, actively serving his community at St. Augustine Catholic Church, where he held the honored position of Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

In his leisure time, Ramiel found joy in travel. From road trips across the United States—from San Francisco to New York City and back—to shorter journeys   between San Francisco and Las Vegas, where he and Elsie had a second home, he loved the open road. He also explored the world by air and sea, earning the nickname “Mr. Information” for Trans World Airlines. He and Elsie shared  countless memories on cruises with Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, and Carnival Cruise Lines.

Ramiel’s love of sports was evident in his unwavering support for the San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors. He was also an avid fan of   timeless music, especially enjoying the sounds of Floyd Cramer, Ray Conniff, and Ray Charles, along with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. (the famous “Rat Pack”)

Ramiel’s life was a testament to love, hard work, faith, and adventure. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
