Ninong saved my life
Hello everyone sorry to hear the news that ninong passed away. Our condolences to you. My memories of Ninong was when they visit us in Malinta , Rhoda and I would line up to get immunized. Let perpetual light shine upon him.May he rest in peace. He diagnosed my appendicitis and advised to get operated immediately; he saved my life when I was 3 years old. He was also the attending cardiologist for Nets Lolo and Lola way back before he went to the US. -

Oday, My Hero
My fondest memory of Oday – Kuya Rody and I were very close growing up. We both spent our very early days in Manila, being the 2 hardier kids of us 4. Ate and K Nilo were more delicate and sicklier, probably as a result of going through the challenges of living under the Japanese occupation longer with all the difficulties and scarcity of food and staples associated with war. Most of the time they stayed with the aunts in Pagsanjan who watched and cared for them closely . K. Rody always wanted to be a doctor and I was always the guinea pig ( I did not know better). I followed him around like a lost puppy as a result of which I was a little tomboy. He was always inventing games which consisted of jumping and shooting and fencing and running around and ending as the hero and I was the sidekick. Because I was 4 years younger and clumsy I would always end up banging my head or getting numerous scratches and one time we were jumping on boxes and I fell on an exposed nail which opened a big gash above my knee that bled profusely. That was the first time I saw him really scared that Tatay will punish him as the bloody gash was deep and ugly. He was so guilty that he told me he will take care of my wound and I will be alright. Because I did not want him to… -
