Sandra “Sandy” Riker, beloved wife, mother of two sons and their wives, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren passed away peacefully in her home.
She was 89 years old.
She was the youngest of four siblings. Sandy was born and educated in Brooklyn where she met the love of her life, Bill Sr. in high school. The high school sweethearts were together for 74 years and married for 69 years. Sandy and Bill left Brooklyn early in her life and they made their permanent home In San Francisco.
Sandy was a beautiful, elegant and kind lady. She was the epitome of style and grace, gourmet chef, as well as an accomplished artist. Sandy was a talented painter and sculptor and longtime member of the San Francisco Women Artists where she exhibited and sold her amazing figurative sculptures. Sandy also assisted Bill Sr. with his arbitration business.
Throughout Sandy’s life, she enjoyed traveling the world with Bill Sr. to Alaska, Australia, Hawaii, China, Hong Kong, Japan, throughout Europe, and Turkey.
Sandy will be missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, loving caregivers, and all those who were touched by her kindness.
She was a longlime member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
