Steven Chin
Mar 1, 1971 – Aug 13, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Steven Chin on August 12, 2024. He meant the world to us as a husband, father, brother, son, uncle, relative, and friend. He was born on March 1, 1971, to Jack Po and Mee Yuk Seto Chin in San Francisco, California. Growing up in the city with his siblings, Norman and Judy, he went to Marina Middle School and graduated from George Washington High School. He then went to college at San Francisco State University, majoring in Marketing. This led him to become a store manager at Blockbuster, a software support engineer at Hewlett Packard, and, most recently, in risk operations at Taskrabbit.
While Carlen, the Chin children, his family, and friends are heartbroken when they lost Steven to an unexpected cerebral hemorrhage, they are proud of him and the incredible and thoughtful person that he was. In his nature, he volunteered to share his organs to be donated to those in need. In celebration of his heroic generosity, over 200 people dressed in orange and black came to the hospital to shepherd his Walk of Honor from the ICU, through the hospital halls, to the ambulance that drove him to the surgery, where he saved many lives with his donation. Again, this was the kind of person Steven was.
Steven will always be known for being a Giants fan. You would often find him dressed in orange and black from head to toe, down to his Air Force 1, sipping a coke or, most recently, water, and hoping to catch a foul ball during a game. He wasn’t afraid to stand in line for hours to grab the promo or, better yet, an autograph. It brought him much joy to get his collection complete. His collection is gold and will forever be cherished by his family with the stories behind obtaining them.
Loved so much by his family, he is survived by his wife, Carlen, children, Haley, Allyson, Cameron, and Samantha, along with his brother Norman, his wife Rita, and their children Kaitlin, Kimberlinand his sister Judy, her husband Robert, and their children Jenni and Bryan. Steven is also leaving behind many extended relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.
