Tom “The Greek” Minaidis, a beloved family man and community icon, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom moved to California at the age of 11 and began working in the produce business with his father.

In 1964, Tom and his wife, June, opened Tom and Pete’s Produce in Half Moon Bay, building a thriving business known for fruits, vegetables, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. Over the years, Tom earned recognition for his contributions to agriculture, including winning the first three years of the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off (1974–1976) and receiving the Farmer of the Year award in March 2023.

Tom was known for his generosity, donating to schools and organizations, hosting field trips, and helping his community. He cherished time with his family, including his children, Tina and John, and granddaughters, Athena and Tiana, all of whom worked alongside him in the business.

Tom loved working and spending time with customers and friends, playing poker, visiting the casino, and classic cars. He was a kind-hearted man who touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
