Vincent Allen Bjorge

Sep 7, 1953 – Feb 9, 2026

Vincent Allen Bjorge, age 72, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Salida, California. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong problem solver, Vince lived a life defined by curiosity, independence, and quiet dedication to his family.

Vince was born on September 7th, 1953, in Monahans, Texas, to Ken and Katy Bjorge. He was one of three children, and brother to Valerie Schatz and Kathy Hunter. Details of his early childhood and upbringing will be remembered and shared by family as they gather to celebrate his life.

Vince married Elizabeth Garcia on September 7th, 1979, beginning a marriage that spanned 46 years. Together they built a life grounded in partnership, family, and shared commitment. In later years, as Vince’s health declined, Elizabeth devoted herself to his care, allowing them to remain together at home for as long as possible, and is a reflection of the deep bond they shared throughout their marriage.

Throughout his life, Vince held many occupations that reflected his adaptability and strong work ethic. Over the years he worked as a repossession agent, on the railroad, and in appliance repair. Eventually, he combined his technical skill and entrepreneurship into his own home-based business specializing in computer repair, programming, and network installation. Working from home allowed him to remain close to his family and be present during his sons’ upbringing.

A true do-it-yourselfer, Vince believed that any problem could be solved with patience and knowledge. Around the home, he repaired everything from washing machines and cars to everyday household problems. To his children, he seemed to know how to fix anything. He often took them to the local library, researching manuals and teaching himself whatever he needed to learn; showing by example that knowledge could always be found with tenacity and the willingness to learn.

Quiet and reserved by nature, Vince possessed a sharp sense of humor and a stubborn determination that those closest to him knew well. He loved animals, especially dogs, and carried that affection throughout his life.

Among his greatest passions was aviation. Vince earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying single-engine aircraft, finding freedom and peace in the sky. He was also an enthusiastic science fiction fan who could often be found watching and rewatching episodes of Star Trek, drawn to its sense of exploration and possibility.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bjorge; his sons, Vincent Bjorge Jr. and Aaron Bjorge; his grandson, Vincent Bjorge III; his sisters, Valerie Schatz and Kathy Hunter; and extended family members and friends who will remember his intelligence, humor, and steady presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Katy Bjorge.
