Violeta Tampos Hasanion — VIEWLOGIES

Violeta Hasanion, affectionately known as “Ate Olet,” passed away  peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024, in Alameda, California, at the age of 92.

Born on May 19, 1932, in Makati, Philippines, and raised in Cebu, Philippines,     Violeta was the daughter of Francisco and Sebastiana Hasanion. She was the    second oldest of four sisters: Angelina, Virginia, Linda, and Lourdes.

Violeta attended high school at Colegio De San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City. In 1981, she immigrated to San Francisco, where she made her home for over four decades. She worked in a    Manila bakery as a helper before eventually finding work with a private housekeeping service until her retirement.

A devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Golden State Warriors,    Violeta was passionate about her teams. Her Catholic faith was central to her life, and she was an active and avid churchgoer throughout her years.

Known for her kindness and generosity, Violeta was a pillar in her community and her family. She was not just a sister but a motherly figure to her siblings and a generous aunt who helped send her nieces and nephews to school. She also played a key role in raising her great-grandchildren, especially Aiddan, who held a special place in her heart.

Violeta is survived by her sisters Virginia, Linda, and Lourdes; her nieces Jojie, Blessie, Chona, Cecilia, Cynthia, Christine, and Jessica; her nephews Ryan and Francis; and her great-grandchildren Leanna, Allexa, and Aiddan.

Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
