Yvonne Louise Dioli

Yvonne Dioli of San Carlos, California, passed away peacefully on October 8, surrounded with love.  Native San Franciscan Yvonne was born in 1934 to Eda and Severino Vacchieri. Attending All Hollows Catholic School and Notre Dame Des Victoires for elementary and high school respectively, she went on to the College of Notre Dame – where, at a college mixer, she met the love of her life, Adrian Dioli. The two were inseparable thereafter, achieving 66 years in a blessed marriage.

Stylish, strong-willed, deeply devout, and opinionated (especially around politics), Yvonne will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, great-grandmother, and above all, the wind beneath our father’s wings. 

Yvonne is survived by her close and loving family: cherished husband Adrian Dioli; sons Richard Dioli (Megan Fannon Dioli) and Roger Dioli (Karen Morello Dioli), daughter Edith Ann Dioli Switzer (Steven Switzer); brother Donald Vacchieri; sisters-in-law Lydia Dioli Cooper (Roger), Patricia Vacchieri Cala, and Audre Dioli; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; 10 nieces and nephews, their families, many dear cousins, and countless friends.

The Dioli family extends heartfelt thanks and love to Yvonne’s angel-caregivers, Anna Funaki and Teresa Gonzalez, for their tireless support and outstanding care.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Carlos at 10am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully suggests a gift in Yvonne’s memory to the General Endowment Scholarship & Financial Aid Fund at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton, www.shschools.org/give or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org/wemissyou.
