How You Can Help Us Preserve Cypress Lawn

The history of Cypress Lawn dates to 1892 when our memorial park was established a dozen miles south of San Francisco. Since then, we’ve worked diligently to protect and preserve the integrity of our beautiful grounds. Our dedicated staff members serve families throughout the Bay Area with high-quality burial, funeral, and cremation services. We are active in the community and regularly host tours along with educational and cultural activities at our funeral homes. We value the support of our neighbors and encourage families in our area to help us preserve Cypress Lawn.

Become a member of the Cypress Lawn Foundation.

The Cypress Lawn Foundation is our non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of our cemetery’s historic monuments, architecture, and horticulture. Air pollution, weather changes, and manmade phenomena leave these celebrated monuments at risk of damage. Our Foundation works to preserve Cypress Lawn for generations to come. Making an annual donation to the Cypress Lawn Foundation means you’ll become a member of this impactful organization and play an important role in the ongoing legacy of Cypress Lawn.

Take a trolley tour of our extensive grounds.

Joining one of our monthly trolley tours is another way to support and preserve Cypress Lawn. We host regular, docent-led trolley tours to allow visitors to experience all three of our campuses.  Each tour takes you around our three campuses so you can admire the natural and manmade beauty of the cemetery while learning about California history.

The Cypress Lawn Arboretum is an internationally recognized horticultural landmark that features more than 100 species and nearly 3,000 individual trees! Every continent except for Antarctica is represented by an indigenous species in the Arboretum. Some of our trees have been with us for over a century—a testament to the living legacy of our Arboretum. Keep an eye out, as we’ll soon be offering in-person tree tours so local families learn more about the many trees calling Cypress Lawn home.
